Agave flower stalk
We had a pretty wet spring for Arizona and because of it all the various desert plants are sending humongous flower stalks up. It's rather humorous to see at times. Some of the Century Plant stalks are like 15 feet high and covered in little yellow flowers (and not to mention like 100 bees). Stephen loves watching bees so he's been in heaven with all the flowers out. We have a little Agave plant in our front yard and we noticed one day a little stalk shooting up. It grew really fast, like an inch a day. It's like you could stand out there and watch it grow. Well it finally stopped at about 6 feet high and flowered. I took a picture of Stephen standing next to it for perspective - now I just have to find it :)
