The "arms race" continues

We are living in a house with lots of tile and lots of stairs. The stairways were not built with child gates in mind. So we have put off buying anything that resembles a gate and instead have boxed Stephen into the one safe (carpeted) location--literally. Since we have boxed up our lives as we wait to move into our never-ending remodel, we have lots of boxes. So we used them to create a little perimeter around the carpet to keep Stephen inside. It worked great, but then Stephen figured out how to get on top of the boxes and make a head first fall onto the tile. So we found these big Rubbermaid containers and replaced the boxes with them. It was wonderful for about a month. Today I turned around and Stephen had literally hoisted himself up on top of one of them! Grrrr. So the arms race continues. . . .

Goo-goo, ga-ga

So Stephen has now started the whole repetitions on sounds. He is all about the "g" sounds. Dan and I have both commented that we rarely hear kids actually do the sounds that are descriptive of baby talk. Well Stephen does. He's all about the goo-goo, ga-ga thing.

Teeth!

It's official. They have been spotted! Stephen is 9 1/2 months old and is finally getting some teeth. We're sad to see his cute little toothless smile go . . . but we're glad to know that he won't have to wear baby dentures ;) The only bug has been his endless runny nose and congestion that has accompanied this little event--yuck!
