The "arms race" continues

We are living in a house with lots of tile and lots of stairs. The stairways were not built with child gates in mind. So we have put off buying anything that resembles a gate and instead have boxed Stephen into the one safe (carpeted) location--literally. Since we have boxed up our lives as we wait to move into our never-ending remodel, we have lots of boxes. So we used them to create a little perimeter around the carpet to keep Stephen inside. It worked great, but then Stephen figured out how to get on top of the boxes and make a head first fall onto the tile. So we found these big Rubbermaid containers and replaced the boxes with them. It was wonderful for about a month. Today I turned around and Stephen had literally hoisted himself up on top of one of them! Grrrr. So the arms race continues. . . .

good luck with that. Cooper would have been over those boxes in no time. Luckily, Cooper has figured out how to go up and down the stairs now. No more gates! They were such a pain!
by the way, can't wait to see you in a few!

I can feel your pain. Our house is ALL tile and Jacob has so many bumps and bruises from falling. A few weeks ago he had two bruises one on each side of his forehead, he looked like he was going to sprout horns. :\
It always amazes me how quickly little babies figure out how to get through our safety blocks. ;)
